GOP is going to rally like it’s 1984

The latest scenes on the campaign trail are beginning to sound alot like this clip from 1984.

Then again, didn’t the film about 9/11 at the RNC seem eerily similar to the video footage.

Great, now I really feel sick to my stomach.

(Sorry for the Prince reference.)

Also, does anyone else feel really betrayed by the recent revelation that “big brother” Bush has been spying on Americans for all too long?

I wonder when they start shooting the kitchen cutlery from the cannon or launch a cow over the wall.

When you’re out of ammo charging out without armor is not the best strategy.

BTW: The thoughtless comments on Obama going to Germany and speaking for how he sees America’s future, really got me riled up.  America has gone down a road of international shame and we need to repair the relations with other nations.  McCain talking about excluding Russia from G8 talks sounds pretty arrogant to me.

Sen. Harry Reid says Sen. John McCain was asked for his stance on the bailout, but wouldn’t provide it.

I guess charging in on your white stallion doesn’t always spur everyone to roll out the Mission Accomplished sign.  From what was said, this reactionary stumble only served to roadblock all the work already done by those who have been working hard on their committees.

Remember there aren’t any time outs in the debate.  This isn’t Monday Night Football.

Pray for a Snow Day

According to MSNBC, Congressional leaders are nearing a solution to this economic bailout plan which may come to a vote in a few days.  So this begs the question, did McCain fly in this morning and “wave a magic wand.”

So if things are moving forward as best as can be expected, is McCain going to fire up the steam engine on the Straight Talk Express and drive it down to Mississippi?

His recent disconnection to all things “real” is he ready for a one on one debate?

Better ask Sarah to pray for a snow day so the bus gets stuck somewhere around Ohio.

Dennis Miller unfunny once again

Dennis Miller attempting to be funny and insightful on the O’Reilly Factor.  Unfortunately, he failed on both accounts.

I find it funny that the questions they criticized about Larry King asking were the same topics shown to the media by the Sarah Palin visit.  I guess they should be laughing at that too, but alas they find it easier to critique Larry King than their candidate.

Don’t you hate it when someone in the group draws a line around the elephant in the room?  A great point made in front of a deaf audience.

I was immediately reminded of several of my college courses in which the professor would make a statement or ask a question and the response would be identical to this clip.  He would always reply, “I will take your silence as a yes.”  It’s sad that once he leaves the floor they will go back to looking for new places to drill for oil.

This video is where the title of this blog came from.  I listened to this as a teenager but find it oddly funny how appropriately fitting the lyrics are to this election. Enjoy.
